平均5.0 星 Great book for a "non-MS'er" 2009年7月8日

I wasn't sure if this book would be appropriate since I don't have MS nor does anyone in my family. However, as a physician I have seen many patients over the years. Now I wish this book was published 30 years ago when I was in medical school. I heard a man describe his symptoms before he knew they were symptoms, and I heard him go through the medical system of diagnosis and treatment. And then the journey from denial to accepting the challenge. I recommend this book to anyone.

平均5.0 星 A Must Read for People with MS or Know Anyone with MS 2012年5月9日

I grew up with the author Stephen Knapp in a small town in KS. I never knew he had MS. He was not diagnosed for many years even though he had the symptoms. This book may help you recognize the signs and it will definitely inspire you to be a better person. The book is not about pity; it is how a determined person copes with life's struggles and offers strategies for being healthier. I especially enjoyed the setting but marveled at Stephen's poetic and writing abilities. It is a wonderful read about life in a small town as well as inspirational to support and understand those with disabilities.

I do have MS and this book inspired me to be more than I am! It was so refreshing to see someone else with the disease triumph despite personal hardships.

This isn't just your typical book about a person with MS. The book chronicles Mr. Knapp's illustrustrious life from infant to adult including his many occupations such as pilot, pro-golfer, radio disc jockey, poet and human resource manager among others. Despite being a child of slight stature, Mr. Knapp excelled in many sports from early on. Can't is just not in this man's vocabulary.

A gripping biography chronicling the best in human nature despite seemingly insurmountable odds.

It is inspiring, entertaining, informative and I just enjoyed reading it.
Once I got started I couldn't put it down.
