I Cry for You, I Cry for Me (英语) 平装 – 2011年12月29日
"I Cry for You, I Cry for Me" is a memoir of author Wayne Tozier Seames's struggle since the loss of his cherished partner. It represents a compendium of his thoughts reflecting the overwhelming despair that has come into his life. Grieving the loss of a spouse or partner is a heartrending confrontation that must be undertaken by the surviving partner.
As a guide, "I Cry for You, I Cry for Me" seeks to help those suffering the agony of their loss. Seames explores the commonality of grief all survivors must confront and offers help in coping with the agony of such a profound lost.
Additionally, he has developed a plan of self-recovery in the face of the anguish that anyone who has lost a loved one must deal with after their loss. While he has begun to make the steps necessary to heal, there remain many more critical steps to be taken. For many months he has cried daily over the loss of his partner. The cries are not volumes of tears but tears of emotional distress-of the loss of the earthly presence of true love.
The book is written from the point of view of someone who is not afraid to show emotion, who is open to having the reader feel a sense of empathy through his descriptions, should they be struggling with the loss of a spouse.
Mr. Seames set out to write a 'real' book, to process his own deep loss, and to share thoughts and emotions that he could not find in other grieving books written by psychologists, psychiatrists, or other doctors who would be 'expert' in the field. Additionally, his poetry paints grief in the moment. The poems are artistic within the context of the book, and can also hold their own.
I'm glad I read the book and I hope that if you are grieving the loss of a spouse, you would also take the journey with Mr. Seames, through his words, to comisserate, and to assist in the process of your loss.
I work with seniors in my business and I will share this book with my clients who lose their loved ones.

As a psychologist who has worked with many who have lost their spouses, I'm aware of a longstanding hole in the literature which Mr. Seames has finally filled for us. Many have written about the experience of loss from one perspective or another, but to my knowledge this is the first book written to men of his generation by one of their own. I expect this will make this volume particularly easy for them to connect with. I am sure they find his firsthand account helpful, and that they will find comfort and guidance in how he eventually managed to achieve a sense of peace and resolution.
